Make videos by chatting — TubeGent in ChatGPT

Connect TubeGent to ChatGPT and turn a conversation into a finished short-form video: draft the script together, approve it, and get the rendered video link right in the chat.

Before you start

  • A TubeGent account (free plan works).
  • ChatGPT on the web with a paid plan — custom connectors currently require ChatGPT Plus or Pro and are enabled from the web app. This is OpenAI's rollout and may change.

Connect TubeGent to ChatGPT

1
Turn on developer mode.

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors, then under Advanced settings switch on Developer mode.

2
Add the TubeGent connector.

Choose Create (new connector), name it TubeGent, and paste this server URL. Set authentication to OAuth.

3
Sign in to TubeGent.

ChatGPT opens a TubeGent window asking you to allow access. Sign in and approve — you can disconnect any time by removing the connector in ChatGPT's settings.

4
Start creating.

In a new chat, pick the TubeGent connector from the tools menu and just ask:

Make a 30-second video about three strange facts about space.

What you can do in the chat

  • Create videos — ChatGPT drafts the script, you approve it, TubeGent renders it. The video also lands in your My Videos library.
  • Write the script together — ChatGPT drafts the narration and the scene breakdown, and nothing is rendered until you say yes.
  • Change how videos look and sound — subtitle style, colours and narration pace, by asking in plain words.
  • Remake for free — don't like the look or the voice? Ask for a remake: same script, new style, no extra cost.
  • Check progress and your library — "how's my video doing?", "list my videos".

FAQ

Does this cost extra on TubeGent?
No. Videos made through ChatGPT use the same allowance as videos made on the site — your plan's videos, credits, or the free daily allowance.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?
Currently yes — OpenAI limits custom connectors (developer mode) to paid ChatGPT plans, and setup is web-only. Once TubeGent is listed in the ChatGPT app directory this will no longer be needed.
Is my account safe?
ChatGPT never sees your TubeGent password. You sign in on tubegent.com and grant access through a standard OAuth window; removing the connector in ChatGPT revokes its access.
Something's not working.
Remove the connector, add it again, and make sure you approved the sign-in window. Still stuck? Email tubegent.help@gmail.com.
ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI. TubeGent is not affiliated with OpenAI; this page describes connecting your own accounts.
